READY SET DANCE is the perfect way to start developing the co-ordination skills that are the basics of dance classes.

Jazz

The JAZZ component of the class teaches preschoolers important developmental milestones like skipping, cross co-ordination and sequencing.

Hip Hop

There is no denying that preschoolers these days are cool. They love to bust out HIP HOP moves. We have developed our very own hip hop songs like the ‘Ice Cream Freeze’ and ‘Hip Hop Italiano’ that our dancers absolutely love learning.

Music

Our MUSIC section has a strong emphasis on counting music, understanding tempo and exploring rhythm. We love to use musical instruments and parachutes to have fun learning music as a team.

Singing

Each lesson involves SINGING time on the microphone. Our little divas and rock stars just love to take their turn on their microphone and sing with their puppets. It’s very rewarding to see some of our shy students gradually gain confidence and sing individually on the microphone and introduce themselves to the class.

Tap

We know that the secret to learning TAP is to start early – It’s just like learning a language. That’s why it’s an important ingredient in our class. Our songs like the ‘Gumboot Splash’, ‘Jungle Bug Squish’ and the ‘Penguin Parade’ are fun exercises that teach us how to use our heels, toes and to learn how to shuffle. All these ingredients together create a super hour of fun!

A 30 minute magical ballet experience for 2- 5 year olds. Twirl our mascot will lead our little dancers through each step of the class as they learn the fundamentals of ballet.

MUSIC

Engage in specifically designed music that captures the beauty of classical ballet

CURRICULUM

Develop coordination, body awareness, strength and flexibility both through visual and auditory instruction.

MIME

Explore creativity and gain confidence by going on a picnic with FREEZE and TWIRL, riding the tutu train to storybook lane and so much more.

THEMED DANCES

Learn the beautifully themed dances that have music prompts to support preschooler’s playful participation.

PROPS

Have fun twirling with rainbow ribbons, swaying with feathers and popping bubbles. These resources support tactile awareness and strengthen fine motor coordination and control.

These classes are a stepping stone to our RAD classical ballet classes for school aged children. It’s nice to know that you can learn ballet from start to finish with your Ready Set Ballet buddies.

Ready Set Dance is an innovative program designed specifically to introduce young children to the world of dance. In each class teachers explore aspects of the Ready Set Dance curriculum through playful approaches which are responsive to the curiosity and imagination of young learners. The children respond with active ad joyful engagement and participation that enables them to practice and refine the skills  and capacities needed for dance. At the same time the children are extended across the various developmental domains of physical, cognitive, language and social development and use learning processes such as attending, remembering and problem solving. Through regular and sustained participation in Ready Set Dance classes children develop positive dispositions to learning such as enthusiasim,  independance, concentration, persistence, co-operation and the three C's of confidence, coordination, and creativity. Ready Set Dance offers much to support the play and learning of young children in Australia and beyond.
